Noosa

Hi there! Yes I’m back and it’s my turn to write the next blog (Chris and I decided that it was a good idea for one of us to write about a place, otherwise we will bore you all to death writing the same things!)

So I’m here to tell you about our time in Noosa and then Chris will write about Brisbane. After that I will have the job of telling you about our time in Sydney flat hunting. Are you confused? Good because I’m getting serious mixed up with where we are and where we have been.

Anyway on to Noosa on the sunshine coast. Well what can I say- the place was great! It’s an upmarket area with a great beach and lots of swanky bars and restaurants. The sort of place that Chris and I would choose to stay and blow lots of money, as you do when you’re on hol and not back packing! However that said, we did manage to have a delicious sea food platter during a happy hour at one of the restaurants! Most of the other restaurants were pricey and designed more for the rich folk- there were some real 'mutton dressed as lamb' walking around.

We spent a good deal of time sun baking on Noosa beach and chilling out. We did however keep active walking from our apartment down to the town and back as Noosa is quite hilly in parts.

We also spent one day exploring the Noosa National Park which has various walking tracks that you can follow. We opted for the longest one available which was a 6.4 km return trip. Needless to say we enjoyed our cold beers afterwards! Along the way we met some more of Queensland’s wildlife including a possum that we named George after an Aussie guy on TV.

The last thing to mention is our posh apartment. Chris’s boss at work commented that you get more for your money in terms of accommodation in Queensland. Well our apartment was actually a two story town house with two bedrooms, two showers, a large swimming pool and bbq area. We got the place for a good deal because we had it for the week but basically it cost around £30 a night for both of us!! What a bargain!

Well I’m off now to pack my pack as we’re flying off to Sydney in the morning. I will blog again once we have found somewhere to live in Sydney for our last three months in Australia.

Bye

Donnie
